Daily posting limits

Each social network has it’s own guidelines on posting. As an example, Facebook recommend 5 posts per day as the limit, but 25 is really the upper limit that they allow without decreasing the reach of your posts. We have therefore implemented these daily posting limits within Buffer, in accordance with each social network’s guidelines:

  • Facebook: 25
  • Twitter: 730
  • LinkedIn: 100
  • Google+: 100
  • Pinterest: 100
  • Instagram: 100

These daily posting limits are over a rolling 24 hour period.

Sometimes accounts get blocked due to the frequency of sharing, or the duplication of content, and we try to avoid that as much as possible at Buffer. We have built great relationships with the social networks that we integrate with and in order to keep both Buffer and our users in good standing, we do err on the side of caution when it comes to posting limits. We are keen to promote an environment of authentic sharing and avoid spamming as much as we can.
In case it's helpful, we'd love to share some blogs we've put together with a bit more information on sharing frequency and where we have found the most success:
