[Publish] Image descriptions (alt text) for Twitter

In 2016, Twitter announced the ability to add descriptions to images on Twitter. These descriptions get added to the images "alternative text" which is read aloud by software that users with visual impairments use to navigate the web. This was monumental for the accessibility of the platform, and Twitter soon added the ability to provide image descriptions via their API.

We are delighted to share that this feature has now been added to Buffer Publish and is available through our new Tailored Posts Composer. Follow the steps below to add an image description to your Twitter posts.

Once you've added an image to your Twitter post (either by choosing from the suggested media, or uploading your own), click on the image to expand it, and then add your image description in the text box. Click Save and then continue creating your post as usual.
