[Publish] Social media automation: Do even more with Buffer Publish using Zapier and IFTTT

Summary

We’re thrilled to integrate with both Zapier and IFTTT (If This Then That). Zapier and IFTTT are web automation tools, described as "the glue" that connects hundreds of other apps.

You're able to create workflows (known as Zaps in Zapier and Applets in IFTTT), which connect apps so they can work together. These workflows start with a trigger, which is an event in an app which kicks off the workflow, and end with an action, which is an event that's completed automatically in a second app. Zaps and Applets automate tasks in the background.

Lots of the same automations can be achieved using either Zapier or IFTTT, which does mean it can be a little tricky deciding which tool to use.  process.st have written a really neat comparison of the tools, which you can check out here.

One important key difference, which tends to be a deciding factor for many users, is that you can only connect one social account to an IFTTT account. You can read more about this here.

Ideas

Both Zapier and IFTTT have a ton of templates that you can tweak and use, or you can create your own from scratch. Here are a few examples of things you could automate using either Zapier or IFTTT.
