[Reply] After how many threads, or how much time, is a new conversation started?

IN THIS ARTICLE

Summary

Back and forth replies will generally be displayed within one conversation thread, allowing you to read and respond as you would with an email. That said, new conversations are started under certain conditions, as outlined in this guide.

Twitter

Public tweets

Tweets that are in reply to an existing tweet will be appended to an existing Reply conversation if itโ€™s available. If the conversation was closed, the status will be changed to Open. If no conversation exists, Reply will create a new conversation, including all previous tweets in the thread.

New tweets (i.e. not in reply to an existing tweet) will always be created as new conversations in Reply.

Other Conversations: Tweets that are part of a separate thread will be displayed on the right hand side under Other Conversations, along with Direct messages with the same contact.

Direct messages

Direct messages in Reply will never be split. This mirrors your Messages inbox in Twitter itself, where conversations with one user will always be displayed in one long thread.

Other Conversations: Public tweets (where one of your connected Twitter accounts is @ mentioned) with the same contact will be displayed on the right hand side under Other Conversations.

Facebook

Comments

Facebook comments are threaded by post, review, or ad. If a contact comments three times on one post, they will all be displayed within one conversation. If a contact then comments on a different post, a new conversation will be created.

Other Conversations: Comments that are part of a separate thread will be displayed on the right hand side under Other Conversations.

Private messages

Private messages in Reply will remain in one thread until it reaches 50 items (including both received and sent messages). After this, the conversation will be split.

Other Conversations: Private messages that have been split into separate conversations will be displayed on the right hand side under Other Conversations.

Instagram

Comments

Instagram comments are threaded by post. If a contact comments three times on one post, they will all be displayed within one conversation. If a contact then comments on a different post, a new conversation will be created.

Other Conversations: Comments that are part of a separate thread will be displayed on the right hand side under Other Conversations.
