[Publish] Awesome Plan changes in March 2018

Summary

On March 22, 2018 we changed the Awesome Plan to the Pro Plan, and it is now priced at $15/month and includes the ability to connect up to eight social accounts. Here's a summary of the changes that happened on March 22:

  • The name changed from Awesome Plan to Pro Plan
  • The yearly discount increased from 15% to 20%
  • The monthly price increased from $10/month to $15/month
  • The yearly price (with the new 20% discount) increased from $102/year to $144/year
  • The number of social accounts you can connect decreased from 10 to eight

Why we adjusted the pricing

The Awesome Plan was first introduced in September 2011. Since that time, the price has been $10/month. When paying yearly, a 15% discount was applied, bringing it to $102/year.

The plan was originally introduced to make it easier for users to share across multiple social networks and that’s still our goal today! Over the last six years, we’ve added a great deal of value to the Awesome Plan, through features like the the Calendar, link shortening and tracking, and mobile apps for both iOS and Android. We've also introduced new social network integrations including LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram. We believe that the $15/month price more accurately reflects the value that the plan provides.

What this means for existing Awesome Plan customers

Right now, there are no changes to the current plan or price for existing Awesome Plan customers. As we look ahead into the year, we intend to make some changes across all of our plans throughout 2019. The pricing and plan changes made in March 2018, only impact new customers, and are a part of our vision to reach a more flexible pricing structure.

We are committed to sharing any changes to your price at least one month in advance of any changes. For monthly subscribers, we plan to offer a legacy discount that will be applied for a period of time to help ease the transition to the new pricing.
